These are my top mix and match products to get a perfect red lip whatever the season and whatever your mood. Everything you could want in a red lip look from a sheer wash of colour to a long lasting shade these four products provide all you need. These are my fail safe items and this is what I think of them....
Mac's 'Ruby Woo':
The ideal choice for those days when you want a long wearing lippy or know you'll be doing a lot of smooching. It's notorious for being a bit drying and a tad chalky but I find with a good lip balm underneath it is the perfect long wearing lip shade. It doesn't require a lip liner and with a gloss over the top or even a bit of Revlon lip butter to keep your lips conditioned and your good to go.
Rimmel 'Red Dynamite' lip pencil:
On its own or as the perfect base this lip pencil is my go too choice. I wore this on the weekend as an opaque base to the new and undoubtably popular Rimmel Apocalips lip colours. Not only did it kept the liquid lipstick in place but made it last through breakfast and lunch!
Revlon lip butter in 'Candy Apple':
My go to red for this summer! Light and glossy I think this is the perfect shade for the summer, in fact I'm already thinking about outfits I can wear it with. Obsessed? I think so. Also it works brilliantly as a gloss, thats not at all sticky, over lip-stick or liner.
Rimmel Apocalips 'Big Bang':
Like everyone else in the blogging world as soon as I tried the Apocolips lip colours I fell in love. As a red lip stick lover the first one I picked up had to be 'Big Bang' and I wasn't disappointed. Opaque and glossy there isn't much not to like about these. Although, I have found that I do tend to get it on my teeth a lot.

A few make-up items I'm loving.
I thought, due to my lack of posting, you were due a day of double posts. I have been discovering items that have been forgotten in the ibis that is my make-up collection and loving some well awaited new additions. I thought it might be a nice idea to express my love for these products and maybe encourage you all to love them too! So here goes.
1. I have a love for bold, but still natural looking, eyebrows. And with that comes a love for a great eyebrow pencil. As a avid follower of Sammi from http://beauty-crush.blogspot.co.uk/ I remembered her mention of this pencil in hazel so thought I would pick it up in dark brown and give it a whirl. I LOVE it it gives my eyebrows a natural look as well as making them neat and bold to 'frame my face' as they say.
2. Yet another recommendation from Sammi. The lip liner pencil in '011 spice' from Rimmel is absolutely gorgeous! I love my dark lip colours but when summer rears its head I feel a bit off wearing a really deep red and feel like brights and nudes are much more fitting to the weather. The thing I love about spice is that its quite a dark nude so I can carry my deeper colours through to the summer months and for £2.99 its a steal!
3. I discovered this little treasure hiding away in my make-up bag. It was a free sample I got in Superdrug a while ago and I had forgotten all about it. It is hands down my favourite blush. Its a cream formula that blends effortlessly on the skin and is the perfect mix of peach and gold shimmer to give you that brilliant sun kissed summer glow. Now all I have to do is find a dupe for it because unfortunately I discovered Bourjois don't do a full size version.
4. There isn't really a lot to say about this next product. Carmex, well it's just brilliant! I bought the classic version because well I hate cherry tastes and smells so that wasn't for me but this has been my life saver! I have really dry lips so I never leave the house without a lip balm and this is now my lip balm of choice. It's incredibly moisturising and everything you could wish for in a lip balm. I expect you all have tried it as I was pretty late to jump on the band wagon but if you haven't I urge you to go buy it ASAP!
5. Finally I recently bought the witch powder after I noticed it was on offer in Superdrug and I'm really impressed with it. I'm not sure about its claim to make my skin clearer but the finish it gives to my skin is really nice as long as you don't apply too much. Unfortunately I have oily skin so a powder is a must and this one is my current favourite.
I hope my little ramble on my favourite products of the moment has inspired you to give a few of them a try for yourself as I think they are all absolutely brilliant!

Nail art.
Ok, I apologies for all the nail posts at the moment guys but I have had a bit of spare time recently between deadlines and to save me from boredom I have been painting my nails a lot! So today I woke up and thought I would create a little nail art of my own.
So this is the final result nothing astonishing just a half and half deign black, silver and matte. I'm incredibly impatient and I wanted a straight line between the two colours and tape is too sticky to put on a damp layer of polish so I had to find another option! It turns out the answer had been staring me in the face for weeks! Post-it notes, the adhesive part of them is soft enough not to ruin the base colour and sticky enough that it sticks to the nail. So it's a win win for me and worked brilliantly.
I used 4 polishes to complete this ...
The first was the Avon nutri-boost which is my go too base coat, its fast drying and is meant to be good for your nails so makes the perfect smooth base coat.
The next was the base colour, BarryM nail effect in silver which I love so much. I have the gold as well and just cant wait to wear it in summer. (£3.99 Boots)
Then I used a basic black from miss sporty cheap and cheerful at £1.99, and I really have never seen the point in an expensive black so this is perfect. It's actually surprisingly good varnish for the price!
And finally I used rimmel matte topcoat which I have been putting over everything recently. It makes every nail colour totally different and has stopped my buying a load of matte polishes! (£4.99 Boots)
I'm really happy with the final outcome and now I have found out how useful post-its are ill be doing some more nail art designs in the future.

Lipstick collection.
I have a confession to make...I am a lipstick addict. I cant help it they call out to me in the store! I thought it would be a nice idea to have a route through them all and rediscover some old favourites, then it hit me why not blog about it too! So here I am admitting my addiction, they always say that is the first step, although I am not keen on breaking this habit.
As you can see I have, well almost too many but I love each any everyone! My favourites have to be the reds and anyone would think that I was mad for having as many as I do, and honestly I do a little bit too.
Not only do I love lipstick but I have discovered a new found love for wearing lip-liners as lipstick too! I picked out a few of my favourites to show you what I have been wearing for the last couple of weeks. I've already done a post on what I would class as my all time favourite, Revlon's 'fabulous fig', so I won't go into that one but if your interested be my guest and check it out. It's a beautiful colour.

Well, what can I say. These are four lipsticks I don't think I could ever live without. They are my go to shades of the moment and cover all my bases...
The first is Grace by No7 which I picked up with a cheeky £5 off voucher making it half price at £5 and I would definitely buy more of these! The colour pay off and the formula are lovely and it definitely has to be one of my favourite shades for the cooler months.
Now, as the sun has finally come out here in rainy England I thought it would a nice idea to break out in a few neutrals. That's where Revlon's Velvet rose and Mauve it over come in. These are so pretty and subtle, I never get it wrong when I wear these two. Revlon has to be one of my favourite brands and that's definitely because of their lipsticks!
And where would I be without a pop of colour! Like I have said a few times in the past red is my go to colour, it doesn't matter if its a night out or a hot summers day red is a fail safe for me! Ruby woo my mac is gorgeous, it lasts on my lips all day even when I eat and drink without having to re-apply which is brilliant. The only downside is is super drying so you have to slap on the lip balm but if that doesn't bother you this is definitely a must have!
Rimmel London Lip-liner- Spiced
This is one of my favourite products of the moment! I discovered it when Sammi at beauty-crush.blogspot.com raved about it on her youtube channel. And I'm could not be happier with it, it's such a fabulous colour. The only problem I have with it is that it's really drying on my lips, but that is soon solved by adding a lip balm over the top.

That's all I really have to say for this post I'm thinking of doing the same thing with my nail varnishes as I seem to have an addiction to those too! Hope you enjoyed this and ill post again soon.
